There was a White Lady from the South Couldn't keep the wolf from the door, lived hand to mouth Ended up on the street Without anything to eat And never a know About where she would go Shelters she's tried, shakes her head Would rather 'die on the street' instead Doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, no substance abuse Besides not managing life's swings has nothing to excuse Now her already insecure situation A vulnerable woman threatening those who maintained their station Exacerbated by an inability To not be considered a liability And the affirmation true If you can't afford it, this City doesn't care about you SP
