THE IEC has found that Helen Zille was guilty of spreading misinformation Helen Zille retweeted a doctored video from within the ranks of the DA that has Pieter De Villiers claiming he is voting for Patricia De Lille because she is corrupt A whole video discrediting Pieter De Villiers and Patricia De Lille that has him saying ‘I am corrupt and Patricia De Lille is corrupt’ The IEC finds Zille guilty of spreading misinformation Steenhuizen claims culpability, but says it was a bit of a ‘harmless spoof’ on Social Media that went viral and that it wasn’t created by Helen Zille, only shared by her (from a DA account that created it), so no biggie It’s DA logic: Let’s make a video that discredits Patricia De Lille and makes Pieter De Villiers look like a buffoon. Let’s call it a harmless spoof. Let’s tweet it so as many people as possible see it. Did Helen Retweet it? Did the IEC find her guilty of spreading misinformation? YES, but look at what THEY are doing THERE! ‘We’ll take whatever action is necessary, we don’t encourage the spreading of Fake news’, is Steenhuizen’s response to the IEC’s finding. ‘Whatever action is necessary’ sounds comforting from John Steenhuizen when he’s talking about ‘a spoof’, Helen Zille , and securing ‘that section of the vote’. When days ago he was calling on the IEC to be stringent and fair with political parties around campaigning. Mascarpone also lost her blonde the other day after the EFF Launch, bemoaning her needing to once again ‘ having to contact the IEC and seeing that something be done about protocols being observed at the Launch, I kid you not!’ ‘Whatever action is necessary’ must have Helen Zille quaking in her boots A ‘Harmless Spoof’?

Coloured People (as part of the rest of SA) were told by the DA that Patricia De Lille was the worst possible example of bullying, incompetence and corruption to ever manifest on these shores when the DA was trying to get rid of her, when they held the mayoral role because of her. A Coloured judge recently found that even though De Lille DID resign from the DA as she claimed, they did in fact force her to resign, which means she was fired. This, after De Lille had applied to the court to stop the DA from saying they fired her (she resigned). The whole engagement was public, protracted and brutal with even Mascarpone at one point launching a diatribe about what a bully De Lille was, and more such focussing on the less flattering aspects of De Lille’s personality according to her. All this of course echoes the time the DA was in partnership with Mamphela Ramphele’s Party although it was infinitely easier to appear to be discrediting a Black Woman and absolve themselves from any contribution to the negative aspects of the partnership. ‘Mamphela bad, DA good’ was how that one ended (The racial distinction is for South Africa. Viewed globally, they’re just doing this to Black Women) For context: I’m being specific because Coloured People are credited with the DA supremacy in the Cape. ‘It is because of the way Coloured People vote’ that the DA runs the Cape. This was further endorsed when The DA moved their headquarters North, where they’re entrenching their ‘Best Of A Bad Bunch’ approach, like that really should be the aspirational goal of South Africans (a horrible reality for people in informal settlements, squatter camps, shanty-towns, those shiny, corrugated-iron houses in Khayelitsha , the asbestos-roofed City Rental Units, and the Criminalised Homeless People in District Six - where they are still struggling to hand over a handful of houses to Returnees, that they’ve been promising to do all year) Statistics all you like, this City is dismally run, its engagements with poor and vulnerable communities fraught with tension, division and corruption, and outside the confines of the ‘Better Than Them’ Narrative, the DA has managed to look after the beneficiaries of Colonialism and Apartheid, and their offspring, very well in The Cape. It is those who were traditionally impinged upon and restricted; scorned, disenfranchised and disregarded; manipulated, brutalised and violated, who bears the brunt of The City’s approach. In a City literally stolen from people. Where the worst kind of inhumanity has been perpetrated. And where really, Coloured People do not do so well outside the discipline of comedy. Coloured People are funny. Otherwise they’re not much fun. Even then, we’ll make fun of them, says the DA As for insulting The Athaan, Steenhuizen claims that calling it a restriction by another party is the issue , and not why it was an issue to begin with. Because they don’t see how insulting the entire community of Cape Town is just wrong.
