The wind is blowing, that real Cape Town wind That can have you going ‘what kind? What’s with the deciding to be so stief? Why always ending up giving us grief?’ You blow hot and cold , here and there The impact always horribly unfair On those who must of the worst of you bear As if you care more about those needing less care? We understand it’s for our ‘benefit’ That in the long run we will ‘gain’ from it But all we’ve got without promise or spin Is evidence of how to blame heaven That flag you lift so high and true Proclaiming to all and sundry it wasn’t you And when you’re forced to try and explain Demand to know why we didn’t question the rain SP
