Blame Heaven

The wind is blowing, that real Cape Town wind
That can have you going ‘what kind?
What’s with the deciding to be so stief?
Why always ending up giving us grief?’
You blow hot and cold , here and there
The impact always horribly unfair
On those who must of the worst of you bear
As if you care more about those needing less care?
We understand it’s for our ‘benefit’
That in the long run we will ‘gain’ from it
But all we’ve got without promise or spin
Is evidence of how to blame heaven
That flag you lift so high and true
Proclaiming to all and sundry it wasn’t you
And when you’re forced to try and explain
Demand to know why we didn’t question the rain
