Dark Truths

The facade is holding

These end of days unfolding

This future long-time in moulding

Collateral-damaged, irrevocably scarred

And chided to memory distorted and marred

Clowns, fools, feathered and tarred

Drawn, quartered and quantified

Dark truths again in hate and lies disguised

Dread measure and mean too, selectively realized

Whilst midst all the beauty in the city's atmosphere

What lifts the heart and abates cold fear

Waits the horror of the meaning of survival to Indigenous People here
