How near? When clear
Some jerseys flower where others cable
Some hirsute, some furred sable
What ho? No cheer?
Why would your heart not enable
What once was proclaimed message in a stable?
What why? Your fear
That what you wished for Mark and Mabel
Means little to the house, and is all about the gable
